Privacy Policy
Effective August 28, 2026. This page explains how Kings handles data in the iOS app.

Data Stored by Kings
Kings stores the score data you enter in the app. This may include player names, player profile settings, game results, hand scores, game history, and player stats.
Kings uses this data to keep score, show history, show stats, and support optional Family Scorebook sharing when you turn that on.
If you link a roster player to a contact, Kings stores that local contact link on the device so it can help recognize the player later. Kings does not upload your address book.
iCloud and CloudKit
Kings may use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit for Family Scorebook sharing. This is optional.
If you turn on iCloud sharing, finalized game history, roster/player profile information, scorebook metadata, and summary stats may be stored in or shared through Apple's iCloud service. That sharing uses your Apple account.
In-progress games stay on the device while you are playing. Completed games sync after they are saved and finalized.
SCIM Ventures does not run a separate account system or backend server for Kings.
Contacts
Kings may ask for Contacts access when you choose to create or link a roster player from a contact. The app uses Apple's contact picker and lets you choose one contact at a time.
Kings uses the selected contact to help fill or connect a roster player on that device. It does not scan your full address book, upload your contacts, or use Contacts for ads, analytics, or tracking.
In-App Feedback
Kings may offer optional anonymous feedback from Settings or after a game. If you send feedback, Kings sends the text you type, the selected sentiment, where feedback was opened, any feedback prompt context, the app version and build, the iOS version, and the device family.
In-app feedback does not ask for your name, email, Kings account, Apple ID, player names, scores, game history, contacts, iCloud record IDs, photos, audio, or location. It is not used for ads, analytics, or tracking.
Please do not include private personal details, private family details, full scorebook screenshots, or anything else you do not want to send.

What stays on my device?
In-progress games stay on your device while you are playing. If iCloud is unavailable, Kings keeps working locally.
What can use iCloud?
If you turn on sharing, completed scorebook history, player profile information, roster data, scorebook metadata, and summary stats may use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit service.
Do I need a Kings account?
No. Kings does not create a separate Kings account. Optional Family Scorebook sharing uses Apple's iCloud sharing flow and your Apple account.
Does SCIM Ventures sell or share my data?
No. SCIM Ventures does not sell user data or share it for ads.
Does Kings use tracking?
No. Kings does not track you across apps or websites.

Kings does not include ad tools, third-party analytics tools, or third-party tracking tools.
Kings does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

If you ask for help through the public GitHub support form, what you type may be public on GitHub.
The public support form is optional. It is separate from the in-app anonymous feedback feature.
Do not include private personal details, private family details, full scorebook screenshots, or anything else you do not want public.
Children's Privacy
Kings is a scorekeeper for a family card game. It is not made to collect personal data from children.
